Kirsty’s Story After years of searching for her ideal bag with no rewards, Kirsty decided it was time to bite the bullet and make her own. Using her ‘old-faithful-if-not-a-little-tatty’ bag as a template for the design, and her mum’s 15 year-old sewing machine (last used in GCSE Textiles!) she set to work creating the first ever ‘Boo Bag’. It was love at first sight, and little did Kirsty realise it was to be the first spark that ignited the passion for bag making. The success of ‘mark-1’ led to a glut of frantic bag making, in homage to the original, to be ready in time for that perfect Christmas gift! Feedback was encouraging (thanks family!) and the bag passion within Kirsty grew a little bit further. Much research continued, and using her Christmas money, a guide to bag making was purchased. A few experiments later Kirsty’s proud creations were being exhibited on her Facebook profile and a keen eyed friend (of V&A Event’s fame) spotted some potential in her friend’s obsession. The world of of Boo’s Bags was born! |
